Nigeria star Odion Ighalo has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League following his prolific spell with Chinese club Changchun Yatai.
The Nigerian was a fan favourite during his in England with Watford, scoring 39 goals in 99 appearances after joining from Udinese in 2014.
He was then sold in 2017 for a reported £20m to Changchun Yatai, where he has scored 36 times in 55 appearances across all competitions.
However, with his side suffering relegation, during a campaign in which he finished as the second-highest scorer in the division – he is ready to part ways.
This comes in the same week Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel canceled his contract in China.
Southampton and Crystal Palace are said to be interested in luring him back to the English top-flight after Sky Sports news confirmed that the Super Eagles attacker ‘wants to play Premier League football again.’
According to the publication, Ighalo will depart from the Far East this weekend before discussing negotiating his next club move with interested parties.
